After graduation I spent a few years working min. wage jobs and being pretty much aimless. I was a scissorman at a confetti factory and a 2nd class straigtener at a coat hanger repair shop, among others. In '91 I decided to get an education and in '93 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University Behind McDonalds via a Ford factory training program. I worked at a dealership near Tyson's and saw two people almost killed in shop accidents so I decided I needed something to fall back on. I transferred my U.B.Mc.D credits to VT where I graduated Cum Laude in '96 with an education degree and a teaching license. I then spent a year as a sub, then went back to turning wrenches at a Ford dealer in Blacksburg. In the summer of '00 I responded to an ad from New River Community College looking for another automotive teacher. I have been here for 8 years now and really love it - a 9 month contract goes a long way in that regard. I live with my wife Jen (Reaves) in a house on 5 acres on a dirt road about 45 minutes west of VT. It's quiet, there's no traffic and the livin' is cheap. In other news I've been to Jamaica twice, spent a month in Maine - three weeks of it canoeing and one week in Acadia N.P. I also went for a two week canoe trip in the Boundary Waters several years ago. Now I'm back at VT working on a masters. When I'm not teaching or growing crazy facial hair I like to get out and enjoy the mountains around my house. I like to go hunting, camping, hiking and the like. Good to hear from you all!
