How could it be 20 years? I have the best memories of my time at Yorktown, but have enjoyed "growing up" and having my own family. I attended Virginia Tech my first year after graduation, then transferred to my hometown of Athens, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia. I studied in Oslo for a summer, moved to DC to try and find work on the Hill. I didn't try too hard as I really wanted to be back in Georgia. I worked in banking in Atlanta before beginning graduate studies back at UGA in public adminstration. I was married in July 1995 and that next June of 96 graduated with an MPA and gave birth to our first son, Andrew (no wasting time!). Since then, we had two more boys and my 90 year old grandmother lived with our family for several years before passing away a few years ago. The boys loved living with their great-grandmother and I learned much about caregiving and how one handles those last years of life. I have much to be thankful for, health and a wonderful family. My husband Paul (he hung around Yorktown back in the day -- that's how we first met -- thanks Ed!) and I started a gutter business and now I handle the bookkeeping and office work while running our household of boys (I watch other middle schoolers before and after school too). I will be PTA president at the elementary school this next year and have been involved with a variety of community work for years. My folks are in and out of the country as they are missionaries working in microenterprise and economic development, so we love having visitors! My one regret is that I did not keep up with these great people I had the opportunity to know in high school. We are looking forward to October, if I can only convince our boys to miss one of their football games (they live to play sports!) Until then!
